Hostel evacuated after elevator fire

MAKKAH — The Civil Defense evacuated a hostel where nurses working for a Makkah hospital lived after a fire started in the building’s elevator. The ensuing smoke caused panic in the building. Firefighters managed to control the flames and no one was injured. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
